DPTA Musical Theatre Summer School 2019

Over 50 young people attended our Musical Theatre Summer School last year. And we already have half of our places filled for 2019.

There is a reason…!

Our Summer School is like no other, with days packed full of Acting. Singing and Dance, working with West End performers and Guest Tutors direct from some of London’s biggest shows. We spare no expense when it comes to the experiences you will get during this week.

We have a Masterclass from leading lady Jodie Steele, currently in Rock of Ages, as well as Danny Colligan, leading his Les Miserable Workshop and the incredible Puppeteer from War Horse Danny Dalton leading his own Masterclass.

As well as that. You’ll be working with DPTA’s Principal Damien Poole (Mary Poppins Returns, Adele UK Tour Wembley, Shrek, Grease, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as well as Head of Singing Sarah Redgwick (Scottish National Opera, Opera North etc) creating some incredible Musical Theatre.

We have Alison Branson on piano and helping you create your own costume and set for the ‘Wicked’ One Short Day number you’ll be learning. As well as numbers from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, A Star is Born and Cabaret. It’s full on…. don’t forget to bring your packed lunch and your towel! Maybe even a spare t-shirt (you get your own Summer School T-Shirt for free on the first day)

Working each day in the beautiful Forum Theatre within Harrogate Grammar School, you’ll be transported immediately into the world of Theatre, with drama games, improvisations and acting scenes, working with a variety of different young people, all encouraged to be exactly who they want to be for the week, and to laugh…a lot.

DPTA is well known for being inclusive and protected heavily our supportiveness and kindness amongst our students. We just don’t accept any form of nastiness or bullying, it just isn’t allowed, in any way. Only supportiveness, in a competitive, Intensive atmosphere of fun!
