All tutors are DBS checked and have enormous ability in their teaching field. Our tutors have worked professionally in their chosen aspect of the Theatre Arts and wish to pass on their capacious knowledge and attributes to those wishing to pursue a career in the Performing Arts.

Damien Poole BA Hons

DPTA Principal and Head of Musical Theatre

A true Yorkshireman, Damien graduated from Arts Educational School of Musical Theatre in London with his degree in Dance and Musical Theatre and has enjoyed a ten-year career working in London’s West End.

Damien has led Workshops, Masterclasses and Talks across the UK and the Netherlands for the last 10 years and adores working with children who want to learn their craft.

After being pushed to the back of the stage as a child, Damien wishes to give every student the chance to shine in their own spotlight, and to create the new casts of Musical Theatre.

Charlotte Jones BA Hons

DPTA Head of Singing and Vocal Technique

Originally from Birmingham, Charlotte graduated from LCM with a degree in Vocals and Technique. She soon became Yorkshire’s most sought after professional vocal coach and enjoying a successful singing career. She has supported ‘Feeder’ on tour, comedian Chrissy Rock and performed for Celebrity Masterchef, headlining Beatherder festival and performed regular solo vocals at venues such as Birmingham Symphony Hall and the Bradford Alhambra. She also sang alongside West End star Shona Lindsay and MD Robert Willis. Charlotte discovered her true love lay with nurturing young talent and set up her vocal school in 2011. Her work takes her across the country, teaching both children and adults. Her pupils have gone on to great heights and many are now working performers themselves. She has students currently performing in number one UK tours, signed to record labels, have gained residencies in venues and excelled in auditions for performing colleges and universities. Charlotte has a 100% pass rate for vocal exams and 98% of her pupils pass at merit or above.


Alison Branson

DPTA Choir and Principal Assistant

Alison Branson has been performing since the age of 4. She has been a member of several choirs over the years, performing in a wide range of venues both in this country and abroad. Alison trained at the College of Ripon and York St. John, studying music and education and specialising in the voice. She has taught music firstly in Middle Schools and latterly in Secondary schools for the last 31 years. During this time she has taught many students who have gone on to take up professional careers in theatre, film and television. She has trained many school choirs and has undertaken European tours to Germany and Austria.

Alison plays a number of instruments, including piano, organ and guitar. She is the founder and Musical Director of the Cleckheaton Community Choir, which continues to go from strength to strength and is in its 5th year, and of the newly formed West Yorkshire Fire Service Choir.

Alison has written and directed several children’s musicals for local schools and community groups; these have been performed in local churches but also in St. George’s Hall, Bradford and the Lawrence Batley Theatre, Huddersfield. She has worked with many professional musicians, composers and theatre directors, and conducted the world premiere of Spirit of Bradford, written by Jazz musician Nikki Iles and performed by one of the world’s leading jazz saxophonists Barbara Thompson.

Alison is delighted to be able to work with DPTA. She is a great supporter of Performing Arts Education and hopes to continue to inspire young and not-so-young performers.


Raven Swaine

DPTA Street and Commercial Tutor

Raven has been passionate about Street Dance and Commercial since she began classes at the age of 7. she is trained in Ballet, Tap and Jazz, and gained her qualification as an associate in IDTA in all these subjects

She endeavours to continually learn and be knowledgeable about her style that has blown up in popularity on shows such as ‘X Factor’, 02 Performances, and ‘So You Think You Can Dance’.

The style has now been adopted by most new Musical Theatre Musical’s in Broadway and the West End.

Raven was Treasurer and then Vice President of the Dance Society at Bristol University, as well as being Dance Director of FUZE, which is the UK's largest dance, music and fashion show.

Last summer Raven also spent 2 months at a camp in New York, as a dance counsellor.

Inspired by huge Street Dance Choreographers such as Christina Andrea, she regularly takes part in classes to keep up to date with modern styles.

Raven has led her own street classes in West Yorkshire’s DM Academy for years and her classes are consistently full.

DPTA are incredibly lucky to persuade her to lead our Street Dance Stylography classes in Harrogate, inspired by classes led at London’s legendary Pineapple Studios.


Alice Fearn


Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Shrek the Musical and is currently playing stand by Elphaba in Wicked. She has provided backing vocals for Mamma Mia, Les Mis, Pirates of the Caribbean, Sweeney Todd and Clash of the Titans. She currently has her own Album out.

Aaron Lee Lambert


Miss Saigon, Sweeney Todd, Urinetown, Sister Act and Shrek the Musical. Aaron wrote the musical ‘From Up Here’.

Played Tracy Shankley in Emmerdale.

Ste Clough


Groundhog Day, Shrek the Musical, Jersey Boys, Spamalot and Oklahoma,Ste is a trained stuntman, puppeteer and Choreographer.
