Damien Poole BA Hons

DPTA Principal and Head of Musical Theatre

A true Yorkshireman, Damien graduated from Arts Educational School of Musical Theatre in London with his degree in Dance and Musical Theatre and has enjoyed a ten-year career working in London’s West End.

Damien has led Workshops, Masterclasses and Talks across the UK and the Netherlands for the last 10 years and adores working with children who want to learn their craft.

After being pushed to the back of the stage as a child, Damien wishes to give every student the chance to shine in their own spotlight, and to create the new casts of Musical Theatre.

Damien also regularly appeared in Emmerdale, My Parents Are Aliens, Heartbeat and Wilmot as a child actor.

Damien worked as a session singer on the new 'Mary Poppins Returns' film with Lin Manuel Miranda and Emily Blunt, and sang as Adele's backing singer on her Wembley Dates of her International Tour this summer.

He continues to work professionally  whilst ensuring he is present at DPTA leading classes every week.

Sarah Redgwick

DPTA Head of Singing and Vocal Technique

Sarah trained at the Guildhall. and completed her studies in the postgraduate Opera Course. The winner of the GSMD Gold Medal for singers, she was a Samling Artist, and has received awards from The Countess of Munster Trust, the Madeleine Finden Trust, the Sybil Tutton Trust and the Wingate Foundation.

Alison Branson

DPTA Choir and Principal Assistant


Alison Branson has been performing since the age of 4. She has been a member of several choirs over the years, performing in a wide range of venues both in this country and abroad. Alison trained at the College of Ripon and York St. John, studying music and education and specialising in the voice. She has taught music firstly in Middle Schools and latterly in Secondary schools for the last 31 years. During this time she has taught many students who have gone on to take up professional careers in theatre, film and television. She has trained many school choirs and has undertaken European tours to Germany and Austria.

Alison plays a number of instruments, including piano, organ and guitar. She is the founder and Musical Director of the Cleckheaton Community Choir, which continues to go from strength to strength and is in its 5th year, and of the newly formed West Yorkshire Fire Service Choir.

Alison has written and directed several children’s musicals for local schools and community groups; these have been performed in local churches but also in St. George’s Hall, Bradford and the Lawrence Batley Theatre, Huddersfield. She has worked with many professional musicians, composers and theatre directors, and conducted the world premiere of Spirit of Bradford, written by Jazz musician Nikki Iles and performed by one of the world’s leading jazz saxophonists Barbara Thompson.

Alison is delighted to be able to work with DPTA. She is a great supporter of Performing Arts Education and hopes to continue to inspire young and not-so-young performers.


Mags De'ath

DPTA Zumba &  Acro Tutor


Former professional dancer, Mags, has been performing since the age of 3.

Training and studying at a London stage school and college she gained her national diploma in performing arts.

After college Mags joined a professional cabaret group “Xerox” which took her all over Europe and made her a member of Equity. 

Her teaching and choreographic experience has seen her work at prestigious stage schools as well as shows throughout the U.K.

Wanting to further her education, Mags became a member of IDTA by taking her associate freestyle exam and achieved a superb 96% which was then followed by a nomination for the John Dilworth scholarship.

Her knowledge and experience of the arts enables her to offer students and parents advice about the profession.


Alice Fearn


Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Shrek the Musical and is currently playing stand by Elphaba in Wicked. She has provided backing vocals for Mamma Mia, Les Mis, Pirates of the Caribbean, Sweeney Todd and Clash of the Titans. She currently has her own Album out.

Aaron Lee Lambert


Miss Saigon, Sweeney Todd, Urinetown, Sister Act and Shrek the Musical. Aaron wrote the musical ‘From Up Here’.

Played Tracy Shankley in Emmerdale.
