DPTA offers a full range of classes for every age and dancing ability. Below you will find a full list of all our fun and exciting classes along with information about the contents of each class.

 
 

Juniors: 8 - 12


 
 

The Triple Threat Programme (Age 7-12)

These fun energetic class give young people the opportunity to engage in acting, singing and dancing in a safe, friendly and fun environment.

A fantastic introduction to the wonderful world of musical theatre for young jazz handers, in a safe friendly environment.

Led by Principal Damien Poole and Singing Tutor Charlotte Jones, ensure your child receives the best training in Musical Theatre.

 
 

Street Dance Stylography

Time to take part in the new style that everybody is loving. Street Dance.

Encompassing a wide range of modern styles, including Hip Hop, Commercial, Locking and Popping and House

Starting with a physical warm-up and cardio participants will learn original choreography to a wide variety of popular music,  picking up choreography quickly, with strength, precision and personality.

 
 

Musical Theatre Jazz - Technique & Routine 

Firstly undertaking a physical warm-up, cardio, flexibility stretches and technical corner work, participants will learn original choreography from a wide variety of musical theatre repertoire.

Learn to pick up choreography quickly, with strength, precision and personality.


 
 

Musical Theatre Ensemble Singing

Singing as part of an ‘ensemble’ is an important skill to acquire for a successful career in the West End and Broadway.

In a class structure similar to London faculties, participants shall sing with the piano, learning harmonies, vocal technique and the art of following sheet music in an unpressurised environment. 

Enjoy singing your favourite songs from your favourite Musicals with an incredibly inspirational tutor, Charlotte Jones.

 
 

Acting & Improvisation Company

Participants work with scripts, learn sight reading and important improvisation techniques designed to bring even the shyest child out of their shell, encouraging confidence and clear speech.

Learn to work as a team and take part in entertaining drama games.

Students also have the opportunity to take Lamda examinations via this class.

 
 

West End Fitness - Endurance and Strength

Fitness is important to succeeding in Theatre Arts.

Students will accomplish a 30 minute marathon of body endurance and high energy cardio with an advanced West End warm up.

Bring water and a towel. Lots of sweat - lots of fun


 
 

Ballet (British Ballet Organisation Pre Syllabus to higher grades/pointe work)

Ballet is where dance begins.

DPTA offers students Ballet lessons via 'Maillot Rose Theatre and Dance School' located in Harewood Village. Taught by the superb Alison Moore. Click on the website link in the 'Teachers' page for more details.

Boys (Only) Strength to Dance

A class for boys to improve strength, flexibility and to enjoy specific male jazz/street routines that strengthen bodies for lifts, leaps, jumps and turn.

Learn exciting Musical Theatre and Jazz routines, picking up choreography quickly and stylishly, in an all male environment.

 
 

Tap (British Ballet Organisation)

Seniors: 13 - 20

The Adult Tappers (16+)

Tap is one of the dance worlds lost arts that is coming back with a vengeance!

Starting from basics, we shall rediscover the art of tap and 'shuffle off the buffalo', learn timesteps, pick-ups, wings and learn fun musical theatre tap routines.

I assure you, we will have a lot of fun in this adult class!

The West End Song & Dance Class

 

A replica of a class taught at one of London's leading faculties, giving students a chance to experience the heart of Musical Theatre.

Led by two professional tutors, students learn show lyrics quickly, the importance of breath control, increased cardio fitness, voice technique and picking up choreography at speed - all within an hour.

This class is unique in that students experience the true feeling of being in Musical Theatre, creating full song and dance routines to showcase.

 
 

Musical Theatre Jazz - Technique & Routine
