At DPTA we are passionate about teaching Theatre Arts and passing on our professional knowledge to young people who live and breathe Musical Theatre and Dance as much as we do.
In beautiful studios within Harrogate Grammar School, our unique classes are designed to challenge and nurture students into becoming intelligent, talented and accomplished performers.
All classes are designed to replicate those of London's most influential drama and theatre schools, with the same quality teaching, opportunities and challenges that excel students to succeed in achieving their individual dreams, in a safe, caring environment.
Taught by qualified DBS checked tutors with over 40 years of professional theatre experience, DPTA’s training is of an exceptionally high standard. We offer examinations in BBO, Lamda and RSL, with scheduled visits from influential guest teachers currently working professionally in TV, Film, Broadway and London’s West End.
With such a wide range of contacts still working in the Theatre Arts, DPTA is certainly the place to be. Working with current professionals in the business, such as Directors, Choreographers, Musical Directors, Dance Captains, Jessie J's choreographer, International Singer/Songwriters, TV Actors, Film Actors, Personal Trainers and dozen's upon dozen's of Musical Theatre Performers, with our own incredible Resident Tutors on top! DPTA is affiliated with a successful London children's casting agency, Icona Management. Every student at DPTA has the opportunity to apply for this agencies books and continue their training through auditions and castings in Major TV and Film work, Theatre and Voice Over.

DAMIEN POOLE - DPTA PRINCIPAl AND ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
A true Yorkshireman, Damien journeyed from West Yorkshire to London to pursue his career in Musical Theatre. He graduated from Arts Educational School of Musical Theatre in London with his degree in Dance and Musical Theatre and has enjoyed a ten-year career working in London’s West End. He has just finished recording the soundtrack for the new Mary Poppins Returns Movie, and was one of Adele's backing singers on her Wembley tour dates.

For the last 10 years, DPTA's Principal, Damien Poole has been leading Theatre Classes, Workshops, Talks and Masterclasses across the UK and the Netherlands. Working in hundreds of schools, he has acquired the skills to inspire students and unshroud hidden talents amongst even the shyest of performers. After a 10 year span performing in London's West End alongside his teaching career, Damien developed his long anticipated dream of creating DPTA.
Damien continues to work closely with schools in the Netherlands, engaging with non-performing, non-English speaking children to develop their skills in the Theatre Arts. Often creating entire musicals with a content of Acting, Song and Dance skill development within only a week of workshopping.
DPTA is a new idea with new class design based on solid historically reputable training and concepts. All classes are design replicas of those led at London's top theatre training establishments.
